Ms. Tanesha Ross

Representing a mixture of Guyanese and Creole cultures, I am Tanesha Ross.  I am the proud mother to two beautiful daughters and the eldest of three for my parents.   I earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, a master’s degree in Elementary Education, Professional Education, and a bachelor’s Degree in English Education and continue my literacy journey with professional interests in culturally responsive school leaders and culturally relevant curriculum design.

As an educator for 24 years, I was a former elementary school principal after teaching English, Literature, and Reading at the secondary level. I inspected schools for quality assurance at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology.

I now work to improve student welfare by providing resources and programs to support students with social, economic, and psychosocial challenges.   I developed a love for literature and see it as an expansion of horizons that opens our eyes and makes us see more than just what the front door shows.
