The Garifuna is a sea faring people. All except one, Garifuna community in Belize are coastal villages. As such the maintenance and preservation of our coastline, surrounding waters and marine life is an integral part of the preservation and maintenance of apects of our Garifuna tradtions. It is no surprise therefore that the presentations given by Fragments of Hope’s Marine specialists, resonated with our Nesters. More importantly, the facilitators themselves are youthful and vibrant and shared impressive expertise especially in responding to very interesting questions from the Nestors. Thank you Ms Gibson and Ms. Vernon for your heartwarming presence, particularly during the small group reflections session. Your knowledge warmth, passion and love towards those around your table made them the envy of the conference. We are excited about future collaborations with Fragments of hope, as we continue our task of building capacity among our youths.
